The best way to describe this sculpture, to quote Michelangelo, that every stone has a sculpture inside. Tha raw stone’s color inspired something abstract, and with a little fantasy and shaping, this red eagle was born. It’s a gypsum class carving stone, officially called raspberry alabaster, with white flakes and veins. Despite the look, it’s one solid piece, with polished glass like smoothness and shine. Original signed and dated medium size sculpture, carved by Gabriella ( sagastone ) Canadian artist. The base stone, black Labradorite granite, that includes feldspar crystals, what makes a colorful gold blue light reflection when turned in the right angle. Square shape and polished as well.
Gabriella beleives in the old school traditional carving. That’s the reason why she choses alabaster and soapstone as carving medium, that easily shaped with rasps and files. The hardness mesured by the Mohs scale 1-to 10, where diamond represents the 10. Alabaster and soapstone between 1-3 depend where is it from.

As for gemstones, we offer only crack free lapidary method polished natural semi precious crystals and minerals. All work on the pendants made in our workshop from cutting to slabs to the last setting. No chemicals or harmful materials used, only water to cool the diamond wheels. Most of the stones locally collected, traded or purchased from fellow rockhounds. The setting material sterling silver, that also comes as bulk from certified suppliers.
