Description

Ice like white alabaster stone, hand carved small sculpture. The light feather title refers to both, the subject and the sculpture’s weight. It’s a hand carved original carving with polished surface finish. Pinned and stone epoxy glued to a round shape black marble base. Sealed and buffed with natural non toxic bee wax. Signed and dated.

11.25″ x 2.75″ x 2.75″, or 28.5 x 7 x 7 cm, weights 0.782 kg.

Light feather carving one of my favorite subject. I had carve carvings from marble and blue anhydrite and of course white alabaster in various sizes. A large brown sandstone sculpture also available, if you’re just as much obsessed like me.

Alabaster stone always on stock. I’m working with two different sourced mediums. The one just like this sculpture comes Italy, translucent and looks awesome when dispayed with light behind. It’s soft easy to carve, and polishes out nice. The other comes from Spain, that has smaller crystal structure, looks more milky and most of the time has other color like blue, pink and orange shades. A few of these carvings will be listed soon.

Feathers have often represented a connection to spiritual realms and to divinity as a symbol across many cultures. And they have always been a 
symbol of flight and freedom because of their relation to birds, not only physically, but also in a mental or spiritual sense. 
Feathers symbolise the desire to overcome and step beyond the mental obstacles and limits, like a bird that soars through the boundless sky and has a view of all life from above.
When they took the coup or were especially brave in combat, native Indian warriors were given a feather. The Native Americans claim that when a 
feather falls to earth, it carries all the energy of its former connection to a bird to a living being. Feathers are viewed by the wind, the sea and the trees as gifts. Feathers come suddenly, but not purposelessly.
